My upcoming book, The Code, reveals the five laws of purpose, boiled down by brilliant engineering minds to simplest functional form.
The other day someone asked me, Why five? Why not more or less? Why not six? Or three?
Good question. It’s like asking why there are four fundamental forces in physics, or three fundamental parts to an atom, or six arms on a snowflake. That’s just the way it is. There’s an inherent structure in nature, and part of our job is to discern that structure and accept it. In many ways, life hands us the numbers. Our job is to understand and adapt to the pre-existing reality of human nature, not to try to force it into our preconceived notions.
The Code’s five irreducibly simply laws are like a five-tumbler combination lock on the big vault door of effective living. Without five correct entries, the door won’t open. But when the five entries are right, we unlock new power.
